The minister mentioned the growing recognition of the Fairtrade logo. Does she agree that one of the great strengths of the fair trade movement has been the fact that the Fairtrade Foundation is an independent body that can be relied on and which can give consumers a degree of confidence that, when they purchase a product with that logo on, it is a genuine fairly traded product? Does she share my concern about the current bandwagon jumping by other companies that sell products that are not fairly traded but, as Christine May said, of "fair trade style"?
