Did you mean scott man speaker:Scott Mann?
Scott Mann: To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, what financial support his Department has provided to Wheels to Work schemes in rural areas, including Cornwall in each of the last five years.
Scott Mann: In September 2016, an officer with Devon and Cornwall police was involved in a fracas in Cornwall while arresting two males. One of the males, who was already handcuffed, spat blood and saliva into her face. She attended hospital, where her eyes were washed and blood tests were carried out—the blood testing continued for three months. In the meantime, she was worried every time she went...
Scott Mann: What progress he has made on implementing the national shipbuilding strategy and on procuring the Type 31e frigate.
Scott Mann: I thank the Minister for her response. It is fantastic news that the national shipbuilding strategy will benefit the whole United Kingdom. Cornwall has a long and proud history with the sea. HMS Cornwall was decommissioned in June 2011. I urge her to take a bid from Cornwall to put, once again, Cornwall back on the waves.
Scott Mann: To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, if he will review the operation of the small brewer relief scheme to ensure there are no barriers to growth for small and medium-sized brewers.
Scott Mann: rose—
Scott Mann: The previous Chancellor of the Exchequer implemented a second homes stamp duty levy, which has delivered £5.11 million into the Cornish economy and is set to deliver 1,000 homes. May I seek an assurance from the Treasury that this money will continue into the future?
Scott Mann: It is a pleasure to serve under your chairmanship today, Mr Paisley. I think this is the first time that I have spoken in a Westminster Hall debate under your chairmanship, and you are doing a sterling job. I congratulate my hon. Friend the Member for Harrow East (Bob Blackman) on securing this fantastic debate. I refer Members to my declaration in the Register of Members’ Financial...
Scott Mann: My hon. Friend makes an exceptionally good point. A huge number of opportunities present themselves, and it is nice to hear of the investment that Taiwan is making in his constituency. It is a pleasure to speak today. Taiwan has a friend in Cornwall, and long may we stand together to promote free trade, free markets and good friendship.
Scott Mann: Will the Secretary of State look at what can be done to lift restrictive planning conditions that are holding back long-term economic growth?
Scott Mann: According to some of the figures I have seen, 63% of the adult population hold a valid driving licence, so by definition 37% of people currently do not. Of the 63% who do, many are precluded from driving because of health conditions or because they have lost confidence behind the wheel. My question is, first, do you think that this Bill will increase social mobility? Secondly, do you think it...
Scott Mann: Q Briefly, in the last session I talked about some of the conditions and the loss of confidence that people have. Do you accept that the Bill increases social mobility?
Scott Mann: Just a simple yes or no.
Scott Mann: Q I just wanted to ask briefly about your experience of driving in very rural areas. We have a lot of energy generation around the country happening in rural areas, through solar and wind. I just wanted to know whether there are enough charging points in rural areas and whether we could do something to decouple the national grid in some of those areas, so that some of the farmers producing...
Scott Mann: A couple of my questions have already been answeredQ . One was on the car-to-grid technology and the other one was on peak capacity. I want to ask the National Grid this: does your grid mirror some of the main arterial roads that run through the country? How effectively could you put your grid capacity into locations? I am firmly of the view that we should not necessarily assume that we want...
Scott Mann: Q I have one small supplementary question, if I may. Do you see yourselves as being an end-to-end provider or do you see other companies coming in to fill that middle gap?
Scott Mann: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what progress she has made on granting asylum to unaccompanied child refugees in Europe under the Dubs scheme.
Scott Mann: To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, how UK fisheries will be managed after 30 March 2019; whether UK fisheries will be managed out to the Exclusive Economic Zone median line; and whether the UK will apply different rules to the area between the territorial sea and the Exclusive Economic Zone.
Scott Mann: To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what plans he has to stop the dumping of dead fish in UK waters after the UK leaves the EU.
Scott Mann: What recent discussions he has had with the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs on support for farmers after the UK leaves the EU.
