Lord David Steel: ...this afternoon. The cards were not used during the Easter recess and may be slightly dirty. There are three questions to put as a result of today's business. The first question is, that amendment S1M-1857.1, in the name of Kenny MacAskill, which seeks to amend motion S1M-1857, in the name of Wendy Alexander, on Scotland's skills for tomorrow, be agreed to. Are we agreed?

Kenny MacAskill: ...on earth, surely it must be within our wit and competence to allow the skills and talents that exist in our people to flourish. They are entitled to no less; we must do far more. I move amendment S1M-1857.1, to leave out from "endorses" to end and insert: "notes that, under changing global economic circumstances, a sustainable future for Scotland is dependent on a high skills, high value...
