Mr Douglas Clifton Brown: I beg to present a petition from the inhabitants of Woodley, Sonning, and Earley, the Rural District of Wokingham, the Woodley Labour party, and others, praying this honourable House not to permit the Minister of Health to sanction the erection of an institution for the reception of tramps and vagrants in the midst of their beautiful rural district without a public inquiry.
...as they are being treated, and I do not know why the Minister finds it necessary to have this ward in that spot. The least we could expect from him is some statement that we could send to the Wokingham Rural District Council and to the people of Woodley, Earley, and Sonning.
