Michelle Donelan: To ask the Secretary of State for International Development, how much of the £32 million of aid pledged by the UK at the Cairo Donor Conference in 2014 to cover disposal of unexploded ordnance, rubble clearing and reconstructive surgery has been disbursed to date; and how much more such aid is planned to be sent in future.
Michelle Donelan: Does my hon. Friend agree that we are always going to need and rely on immigration until we address the bigger issue: the gap in our skills market? Until we do so, we will not be able to cut back on immigration. Addressing the skills gap is the way to grow the economy.
Michelle Donelan: If we do not amend our system to provide for English votes for English laws, voters in Scotland will continue to vote for their own parliamentarians to make devolved laws, but those parliamentarians would perhaps have the casting vote and therefore the final say on matters that only affect constituents in England.
Michelle Donelan: The hon. Lady mentioned six applications a week. Just to clarify: is that less than one application a day?
Michelle Donelan: The Prime Minister spoke movingly at conference about the plight of young people in the care system. Will he tell me what the Government are actually going to do to improve the life chances of those young disadvantaged children and to give them opportunities as they move forward in their lives?
