Did you mean Edwin roots?
Edwin Poots: Thank you for that ruling, Madam Deputy Speaker. We are used to such mistakes. We will wait to see what the Social Development Committee has to say. Are they for the rent rise or are they against it? Do they want a 5% increase, or do they want a 2·5% increase? [Interruption]
Edwin Poots: One of the rules for good citizens is the upholding of law and order. Will the Minister of Education call on school leavers to join the Police Service of Northern Ireland as part of the practice of good citizenship?
Edwin Poots: 3. asked the Minister of Health, Social Services and Public Safety if she will detail the percentage of nurses employed at D grade in Northern Ireland and what is the comparable figure for the rest of the United Kingdom. (AQO 354/00)
Edwin Poots: Can the Deputy First Minister outline what contact there has been with the Northern Ireland Centre in Europe (NICE) about the creation of a one-stop shop? Also, will the office be for the use of Assembly Members, or only for Executive use?
Edwin Poots: Will the Member give way?
Edwin Poots: 9. asked the Minister for Social Development to detail the debt of Housing Executive tenants for each of the last three years. (AQO 453/00)
Edwin Poots: The size of the company makes this a serious blow to the local economy. What investment has IDB made in Barbour Campbell Threads? Does the Minister know how many jobs will be available when the new centre of excellence is created?
Edwin Poots: Will the Minister give way?
Edwin Poots: Is it in order for the Member for Strangford to describe constituents in Northern Ireland as tribes?
Edwin Poots: 1. asked the Minister of Culture, Arts and Leisure what consultation he has had on the development of a national stadium for Northern Ireland. (AQO 568/00)
Edwin Poots: On a point of order, Mr Speaker. As the individual who raised this matter, I should point out that I asked the Business Committee to look at the situation where Executive Ministers had difficulty attending sittings of the Assembly at any time.
Edwin Poots: 14. asked the Minister of the Environment to outline the steps he is taking to give greater protection to areas of special scientific interest. (AQO 675/00)
Edwin Poots: I am speaking as a Member of the legislative Assembly and not as Chairperson of the Committee of the Centre. This motion was never presented to the Committee, so members had no opportunity to give their views on it. It is, however, good to see the Junior Minister, Mr Nesbitt, with us — [Interruption].
Edwin Poots: Does the First Minister acknowledge that the delay in establishing the Police Board is leading to a situation where the most vulnerable in society are under threat as a result of the hundreds of police officers currently leaving the force and not being replaced?
Edwin Poots: 9. asked the Minister of Higher and Further Education, Training and Employment to detail what areas of skill shortage he has identified and to outline the steps he is taking to address them. (AQO 880/00)
Edwin Poots: Nobody believes you.
Edwin Poots: Further to that point of order, Madam Deputy Speaker. Can you clarify whether the Member is correct when he says that foot-and-mouth disease is now present throughout the United Kingdom? So far as I am aware, it is only in Great Britain and has not reached this part of the United Kingdom yet.
Edwin Poots: 6. asked the Minister for Regional Development to detail the level of subsidy provided by his Department to operate the Antrim-Knockmore railway line. (AQO 953/00)
Edwin Poots: My question related to compensation for livestock marts.
Edwin Poots: It concerned people in the higher tax band who have more than one child at university.
