Mr Harold Lever: I am happy to tell my hon. Friend that I sometimes participate in collective decisions in this area. I do not accept that the previous participation agreements entered into by the Secretary of State for Energy were in any sense bogus or "phoney". Nor do I accept that the new agreements that will be negotiated in somewhat different circumstances will be any less valuable to the country than...

Mr Harold Lever: It will be only lack of time that will circumscribe my epistolary efforts as regards the director of the Fund. Oral Answers to Questions — Small Firms (30 Jan 1978)

Mr Harold Lever: I do not want to adopt my hon. Friend's somewhat oversimplified diagnosis of the problem of the inner cities, but I entirely agree with him that the small firm and support for it from the Government have a special and remarkable role to play in the inner cities. I would not say that, however, to the exclusion of the creative achievement which I expect also in the years ahead from the small...
