Mr Charles White: They are in the Bill.
Mr Charles White: On page 19 are the words I have read as it for the words "successful prosecution of tile War" there were submitted the words "in connection with the demobilisation of the forces.'' If I made the observations outside this House that I have made inside that would be doing something detrimental to the demobilisation of the forces, and, in my opinion, I should be in danger of prosecution. What...
Mr Charles White: 57. asked the Prime Minister whether he is aware that a large number of old age pensioners are living in a state of semi-starvation, and whether he will recommend the Government to grant an immediate increase of 2s. 6d. a week pending the Report of the Committee now sitting?
Mr Charles White: Could the hon. Gentleman give me an answer to the first part of my question?
Mr Charles White: Will the right hon. Gentleman make representations to this ca'-canny Departmental Committee to hurry up with their Report?
Mr Charles White: 60. asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the apparent discrepancy in the statements of our policy towards Russia as announced in this House on the 5th instant and at the Guildhall on the 8th instant, he will state whether the policy of the Government has been modified since the Debate on the 5th instant; and, if so, what fact, or facts, in connection with the Russian situation came to...
Mr Charles White: 11. asked the President of the Hoard of Trade whether he is aware that the uncertainty as to the continuance of the 33⅓ per cent, duty on imported foreign motor cars is hampering British motor manufacturers in their efforts to set up new and up-to-date machinery for the manufacture of motor cars; and if he will state what is the policy of the Government as to the continuance of this duty?
Mr Charles White: 52. asked the Prime Minister when it is proposed to consider the Report of the Committee on Old Age Pensions; and whether, if there is a possibility of delay he will recommend the Government to immediately increase the existing pensions by 2s. 6d. a week, the lowest increase recommended by the Committee, pending a final decision on the matter?
Mr Charles White: 54. asked the Prime Minister whether he can state the amount of the credits which have been granted to Germany by each of the Allied and Associated Powers?
Mr Charles White: 55. asked the Prime Minister whether he can state the amount already paid by Germany by way of reparation or indemnity to each of the Allied and Associated Powers; and in what form payment has been made?
Mr Charles White: 3. asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he can state the difference in value between exports and imports for the first ten months of the present year, and to what extent that difference is met by the services rendered by Great Britain to other countries; and to what extent the difference is so covered during the months of September and October, respectively?
Mr Charles White: 14. asked the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he is aware that the prohibition of long-distance pigeon races to France and from France to England is most prejudicial to the full training of carrier pigeons; and if he will make representations to the French Government to ensure that, at any rate, after the ratification of Peace with Germany, these long-distance races may be resumed?
Mr Charles White: 2. asked the President of the Board of Trade whether imports of German toys, as well as of toys which, though coming through neutral countries, are undoubtedly of German origin, are steadily increasing; whether the official statements of the values of such toys have been founded on English values or on the current value of the German mark; and whether, in view of the necessity for...
Mr Charles White: Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that English toy manufacturers have, directly after Xmas, or in the beginning of the new year, to prepare for toys for next Xmas?
Mr Charles White: 46. asked the Prime Minister whether instances have been brought to his notice of landlords demanding from tenants of shops and business premises, on extension of lease, rents four or five times higher than the rents which these have hitherto been paying; whether such premises are sometimes sold over the head of the tenant without the latter having had an opportunity of offering for the same;...
Mr Charles White: 48. asked the Prime Minister whether he is now prepared to introduce legislation to secure the rights of arbitration in the case of tenants of shops and business premises who may find these premises leased or sold over their heads without the option of tendering, or who, on renewal of lease, are demanded increases of rent which frequently exceed four times the previous rental?

Mr Charles White: On page 98 of the Estimates I see that the expenditure for medals this year represents a sum of £2,426,500, and last year £1,760,000. The note says that this represents the value of medals actually issued, and makes reference to the Stock Account on page 86; but on turning to that page I find that the explanation column is blank. I should like to know what is meant by the words "actually...
