"The department does not hold the requested information" is the type of political answer that causes the public to distrust politicians. Ms Ellison knows full well that the question refers to Dame Sally Davies' recent faux pas. The answer is trying to justify Davies. Both Ellison & Davies almost certainly know the truth - If they do not, they should not be in office. If they do know the truth, we must question both their objectivity and motive.
