While the A319 is a modern medium size pure jet, modern turbo props on domestic routes would only consume one tenth of the fuel used by an A319. Maybe HMG should tax aircraft so that operators are encouraged to use turbo props. Better still let us improve rail capacity and fare structure so there would be no need for many of these flights (Belfast excepted).
