I agree with the Hon/Lady that needs of recruitment of nurses should be local. However I think it is also essential that a National policy of exhibiting the need for an increase in nursing posts is required, and that more information and interest is stimulated in schools and colledges.
I would also argue that nursing as a University subject should be left until a general period of training in what is a hands on profession, is not undertaken until after this basic qualification is reached, and the University studies then taken as post graduate if so desired. This should be in a variety of speicialities.
