Recent appearances

  • Agricultural Subsidies - Question 3 Dec 2018

Would my noble friend agree such environmental work has been undertaken by many farmers over many years? Some of the work is paid and some is not—like myself. Would he agree that food production must remain the prime objective for farmers, although not at any cost, obviously?
  • Brexit: Food Security - Question 20 Nov 2018

My Lords, as a farmer I find the idea of food shortages if there is no deal both scaremongering and proven nonsense. Does my noble friend agree that domestic production plays a crucial role in our food security and that the high standards and quality of our produce is recognised both abroad and at home? Surely we should encourage people to buy British.
  • Vaping - Question 13 Nov 2018

My Lords, vaping has been a phenomenal success in helping millions of people like myself to stop smoking or to cut down. What plans does the Minister’s department has after Brexit to remove the restrictions imposed by the EU’s tobacco products directive?
