There is a further argument that my hon. Friend might be interested in referring to in relation to having the first meeting on Tuesday. Under the Standing Orders it is possible for the Committee to meet during the recess that follows. If it were felt needed  by next Tuesday—a day earlier than proposed by the promoter of the Bill, the hon. Member for Eltham—it would be possible for us to set dates for the whole of the following week. That would allow time for us to take evidence if a motion were passed or to have a full and frank discussion of all the amendments that have already been tabled, as well as the many that I feel are emerging from the production line towards the Public Bill Office, where I know they are looking forward with excitement to the suggestions that will be made about the Bill. There would be ample time to discuss all the issues in the recess, when most of us would love to be in Parliament—
