I will make a few announcements before we start our proceedings. Obviously, we are not used to warm weather in this country, so if people want to remove clothing, within reason, that is perfectly acceptable.
Today, Parliament is proroguing. Under our special procedures, when we prorogue this Committee cannot sit, but our learned Clerk and the Whips will keep all colleagues informed of what is happening and also what we will do when there are Divisions in the Chamber this afternoon. The room will be locked between 1 o’clock and 2 o’clock, so there is no need to worry about papers; it will be fine to leave them here.
