This proposal may not be as self-explanatory as the previous one, but it is fairly clear. It provides for the continuity of the law in relation to the provisions re-enacted in the Bill. As indicated in the consideration of earlier clauses, we have sought to re-enact provisions that relate to offences concerned with false identity. The Committee has discussed the fact that some 3,000 convictions were achieved last year, and it is important that we maintain continuity.
