My point is that the hon. Lady asks us to push the principle of performance management beyond what is generally considered to be the role of performance management in the private sector vis-Ã -vis the funded sector. However, in the situations that she has described, those institutions will fall under the registration requirement that will set minimum standards. She asks us to performance manage the care delivered under a purely private contractual arrangement between provider and client, and we do not feel that that would be a desirable thing to do.
