Representatives in the UK's Parliaments need to declare financial interests (such as employment, donations, and gifts) that could be considered by others to influence their judgement or actions.
As part of our WhoFundsThem project, we have written about how the rules on financial interests can be improved.
You can read more about the different kind of data we hold about financial interests, including spreadsheet downloads.

From 9 February to 13 February 2024 I visited California, USA, as part of a cross-party delegation of MSPs, meeting health professionals, family members of individuals who had used the state’s End of Life Options Act, Senators and representatives of organisations who provide information about the provisions of the Act. The costs of the visit, including travel, accommodation and meals amounted to £2,694 and were paid by the permissible donor Dignity in Dying (a not-for-profit organisation that campaigns for a change in the law on assisted dying, of 181 Oxford Street, London, W1D 2JT). I worked full-time and, as a Band 6 teacher, my salary was £41,412 per annum. I received a final salary payment of £3,246.16 at the end of May 2021.
I am a Director of SSERC Limited (SC131509), which is a registered Scottish Charity (SC0174884) for the benefit of Scottish Education. This role is unremunerated. [Registered 2 June 2023]
On 5 February 2022 I attended the Scotland v England rugby match at Murrayfield as a guest of BT Scotland. In addition to the ticket for the match, the hospitality included food and drink. I understand that the cost of this hospitality was approximately £500. I believe that the interest does not meet the prejudice test. [Registered 20 February 2022]
I am an associate member of NASUWT.
I am a member of Amnesty International.
