Committees

In the UK Parliament, committees are groups of MPs or Peers who examine specific issues in more detail than can be done in debates.

Some committees focus on checking the government’s decisions and spending, while others investigate specific topics and proposed legislation.

Anneliese Midgley is currently a member of the following committees:

Member, Culture, Media and Sport Committee

Welcome to the cross-party Culture, Media and Sport Committee.

It is our responsibility to scrutinise the work of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and its associated public bodies, including the BBC.

We examine government policy, spending and administration on behalf of the electorate and the House of Commons.
