Some committees focus on checking the government’s decisions and spending, while others investigate specific topics and proposed legislation.

The Members Estimate Audit Committee supports the House of Commons Accounting Officer in discharging his responsibilities under the Members Estimate, particularly in maintaining an effective system of internal control.

It is one of the Estimate Audit Committees alongside the Administration Estimate Audit and Risk Assurance Committee.
