Mr Kenneth Robinson

Former MP for St Pancras North

As a result of COVID-19, some MPs were less able to vote in Parliament in certain periods, and this will be reflected by absences in their voting record.

11th May to 2nd June 2020

All MPs could vote remotely through an online voting tool. Votes cast remotely are shown as normal on the TheyWorkForYou voting record.

2nd to 9th June 2020

The option of online voting was removed, and a number of MPs may have been unable to vote because they were not physically able to attend.

10th June 2020 onwards

The requirements on proxy voting were relaxed, allowing MPs to designate another MP to cast a vote on their behalf.

If an MP votes by proxy, it is effectively exactly the same as if they cast the vote in person and it shows up on their TheyWorkForYou voting record.

MPs are not required to designate a proxy, and may instead pair with an opposing MP to miss a vote. Parliament does not record when two MPs have come to a pairing arrangement, so on TheyWorkForYou, they will both appear to have been absent for the vote.

We will update this information if the situation changes. See more detail on votes during the COVID-19 period here.

  • Murder (Life Imprisonment) 24 Mar 1970

I rise to oppose the Motion. The hon. Member for Bury St. Edmunds (Mr. Eldon Griffiths) made the best case he could in support of a proposition which the House would be ill-advised to support. The hon. Gentleman appealed frankly to our emotions—[HON. MEMBERS: "No."]—but I do not consider that the arguments he put forward will stand examination. I wish to make it clear at the outset that...
  • Orders of the Day — Finance Bill: Base Value of Owner-Occupied Dwelling-House 17 Jul 1969

I beg to move Amendment No. 57, in page 57, line 32, at end insert: (4A) If the grantor is a trustee, and the dwelling-house has been the sole or main residence of a person who— (a) is entitled to occupy it under the terms of the settlement, or(b) is a beneficiary under the settlement and allowed by the trustee to occupy it, sub-paragraph (1)(a) and sub-paragraph (4) above shall have effect...
  • Orders of the Day — Finance Bill: Base Value of Owner-Occupied Dwelling-House 17 Jul 1969

The House will recall that when this Clause was considered in Committee of the whole House on 14th May, the hon. Member for Acton (Mr. Kenneth Baker) moved an Amendment designed to extend the benefit which is to be conferred on owner-occupiers to trustees who sell houses which have been occupied by a beneficiary under the trust. I felt unable to accept the Amendment which the hon. Gentleman...
