🗣️ Speeches and Debates

  • Orders of the Day — Finance Bill 25 Apr 1955

My hon. Friend said that forms were being prepared and that taxpayers in certain categories who had overpaid could ask the tax collector for the forms so that they could make their claims. Would not it be possible to instruct the authorities to send the forms to those people who require them without application having to be made?
  • Orders of the Day — Finance Bill 25 Apr 1955

I think the hon. Member said that the deduction was made from the dependant's allowance. Would it not have been normal for the deduction to have been made from National Assistance?
  • Oral Answers to Questions — Trade and Commerce: Cotton Textile Industry (Deputation) 5 Apr 1955

Is my right hon. Friend aware that a similar statement is much needed in respect of the glove industry?

  • Orders of the Day — Army Estimates, 1955–56: VOTE 1. PAY, &c., OF THE ARMY 15 Mar 1955

Member is suggesting that men serving overseas in Germany should serve a shorter period and that he is not suggesting that units, regiments or battalions, should serve a shorter time abroad.
