15-23 March 2023: I, along with six other MLAs, visited Washington DC and Alabama to participate in the American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYPL) exchange programme to build relationships and share knowledge between political, business, and civic society leaders in the USA. The ACYPL contributed approximately £3,557 towards transport, accommodation, hospitality, flights and activity costs (with the remainder of the total costs of approximately £4,887 being met by the Northern Ireland Assembly).
8-13 October 2023: I attended a conference in Boston University hosted by the Arts and Sciences (Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies Programme) with a delegation from Community Restorative Justice Ireland, to discuss the gendered and grassroots approaches to peace and conflict 25 years on from the Good Friday Agreement. The costs of flights (€816.12), accommodation (US$1000) and transport and hospitality (US$430) were funded through eight Communities in Transition areas and Striving Towards a Restorative Society (funded under The Executive Office).
My partner was appointed as a Board Member of the Belfast Harbour Commissioners. (Interest commenced on 1 August 2024).
