My Lords, I have to notify the House, in accordance with the Royal Assent Act 1967, that the Queen has signified her Royal Assent to the following Act:

Justice and Security (Northern Ireland) Act 2007.

I would like to know as a subject of Her Majesty, if the Queen was actually allowed to give her Royal Assent, or whether parliament used the Royal prerogative at their own behest without reference to Her Majesty's right to veto.
Also how many "assents" have been given, by parliament's use of the Royal prerogative since 1960, and for what.

Regarding Privy Councillors/Queen's Advisors, how can the subjects be certain that the advice given to the Sovereign is correct and right for the people of the UK?
