I have been contacted by a number of people with concerns about the dog and cat meat trade in South Korea, many of which highlight the Friendship City Agreement you signed with Seoul's Mayor, Park Won-soon, in 2017. Further to my question 2017/3096, what representations have you made to the Mayor of Seoul, Oh Se-hoon, about eliminating these barbaric practices?

My international engagement focuses on attracting businesses, tourists, students, entrepreneurs and investment to London, as well as sharing expertise and best practice on predominantly urban issues, including the need to improve our air quality, reduce inequalities, and responding to climate change.

I would encourage concerned individuals and groups to work with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), which I understand has engaged with South Korean authorities on this issue in the past.
