How many Met police officers are trained to use drink driving breathalyser kits?

Training on an Electronic Screening Device (ESD) (breathalyser) is part of the MPS’s Recruit Foundation training. Therefore, every officer who has successfully completed their initial phase of learning prior to being posted to a Basic Command Unit is competent in using an ESD to administer a roadside breath test. From January 2021 to date, approximately 2,500 officers have received this training.
