How are policy departments at City Hall working together so that Obesity strategy does not work at cross purposes with the eating disorder strategy?

I am committed to a health in all policies approach that considers and prioritises health and wellbeing across the social, economic and environmental factors impacting London. This means working with teams across the GLA to ensure that health and wellbeing are part of everything we do. This is why health and wellbeing is one of the cross-cutting principles of our Recovery Programme. In particular, the Mental Health and Wellbeing, and Healthy Place, Healthy Weight recovery missions meet regularly to discuss cross-cutting themes, programmes and specific issues like eating disorders.

Working together across policy departments and all of London’s health and care system is the only way in which we will tackle our city’s most complex health and care challenges. Through the Healthy Place, Healthy Weight recovery mission, colleagues and partners remain aware of and sensitive to language being used, focusing on the importance of creating healthy local environments with multiple benefits, rather than on individual behaviour change.
