Questions to the Mayor of London – answered at on 25 January 2022.
Can you update me on the London Economic Recovery Programme and its priority areas concerning Greenwich and Lewisham?
The London Recovery Programme, overseen by the London Recovery Board, has identified a grand challenge to restore confidence in the city, minimise the impact on communities and build back better the City’s economy and society. It has nine missions, and has endorsed an Economic Recovery Framework for London, which identifies roles and responsibilities of boroughs, the GLA, London Councils and Government in helping the city’s recovery.
Mission activity has taken place in both boroughs. The High Streets for All Challenge Fund has funded innovative projects to ensure high streets can flourish in Greenwich Town Centre and Lewisham High Street. A Green New Deal’s Grow Back Greener Fund has supported nine projects in the boroughs to create and improve green spaces and boost climate resilience. The Let’s Do London campaign supported the museums and attractions in Greenwich, helping bring tourists back to the Borough.
