A number of local people have contacted me about the Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTNs) installed in Wandsworth and Merton. Can you confirm where the funding came from and who agreed the design?

Funding for Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN) schemes in Wandsworth and Merton was provided by the Department for Transport (DfT) and administered through Transport for London (TfL).

All LTNs were proposed by the relevant boroughs, and the boroughs retain responsibility for design of these projects. This was the case for the London Boroughs of Wandsworth and Merton, who requested funding and were responsible for finalising the design of the LTN schemes on roads for which they have responsibility.
