How many households in London contain a resident over the age of 65? And therefore, how much would it cost over four years to give each household a free burglar alarm, including the cost of each alarm, installation and service after one year?

Based on the Annual Population Survey data from 2018, the estimated London households with a resident over the age of 65 is 23 per cent (791,672).

As the prices of alarm models and associated costs of instillation and servicing are so varied, it is not possible to provide an accurate estimate on the cost of installing a free burglar alarm for each of these households.
