What is the total amount of all donations and sponsorships, whether in cash or in kind, which have been given to the GLA in the last 4 years, broken down by year?

The GLA has always worked with partners to deliver programmes and events that benefit Londoners. The GLA and TfL Sponsorship Policy sets out the principles for all contractual Partnerships that the GLA enters. All Sponsorship received is also appropriately vetted and measured against these principles to ensure that it meets requirements.

Donations

The GLA does not accept donations directly for its work. There are programmes that encourage donations to organisations whose work we support, for example CrowdFund London encourages Londoners to donate to organisations working with young people, and the GLA then matches their donation if they hit their target. Since 2014, £2.2m has been raised for organisations via the Crowdfund London platform.

The below table shows the value of cash sponsorships over the last six years, broken down by year. These are the figures that are held centrally, there may be other partnerships outside of these values within individual policy budgets.

Value in-kind sponsorships

The GLA has always worked with external organisations on projects where partners provide value in-kind support to help us achieve our key objectives. For example, we recently partnered with The Voice who gifted media space for the Africa in London festival promotion, we worked with 7 partners who delivered pro bono training to charities involved in the Team London skill up programme, and as part of the crucial London Is Open campaign we were gifted media space by Heathrow Airport, Bloomberg, and on Regents Street to ensure this message reached Londoners and visitors. In some instances, it’s easy for us to attribute a value to the services or assets organisations are providing as part of the partnership, however in other instances it’s not, and for that reason we don’t report figures as they can be misleading.
