I would like to join my colleague in his remarks. I hope he was a supporter, as I was, of the wonderful work that my hon. Friend Conor McGinn did on making the case for equal marriage in Northern Ireland—a case that I wholeheartedly supported, and I hope the Government will too. Devolution, even when it is functioning, does not relieve this place of our responsibility to uphold human rights, whether in Northern Ireland or elsewhere.
