Public health and the air we breathe was greatly improved as a result of the Clean Air Act 1956, but much of the progress since then has gone backwards. In large parts of England, including in my own constituency, air quality falls dramatically below European safe standards, so may we have a statement from the Environment Secretary about the need for a new clean air Act fit for the 21st century?

This location the MP refers too has been and still is constantly creating severe air pollution which is daily being ingested by 47,000 at least
This reference in the house does not mention this problem has been well known for 15 years ever since it was designated as an AQMA location but Labour and Conservarives whilst in power knowingly ignored the problem.
Now we have 20,000 minimum residents in Tameside with COPD including Asthma both of which contribute to many deaths, however all Politicians both local and national have
either disputed the known facts or preferred to bury the facts with the dead and dying.
I forward this as someone highly knowledgeable on Air Pollution the diseases it causes and with over 6,500 important data statistics which became acknowledged by the Supreme Court in 2014/2015
