We went into the election very clear about protecting police numbers. I am asking the Prime Minister a straightforward question, which he has so far failed to answer. At Prime Minister's questions, he was asked by my hon. Friend Ms Buck this very simple, straightforward question:

"Will there be fewer police officers at the end of this Parliament"-[ Hansard, 23 June 2010; Vol. 512, c. 287.]- compared with now? He skirted around her question and did not answer it. Will he answer it now?
