Not all of them require decisions.

I should like to conclude by reminding right hon. and hon. Members that this is House business. As the Leader of the House made clear earlier, for this evening and for all other occasions on which we vote on the issues, there will be free votes-

It is exactly this sort of political wriggling that puts the democratic process under a dark cloud. The previous speaker asked a simple question, one that I think many readers would have wanted to hear the answer to. The question was asked more than once during the debate, and it was a simple one.

As an answer, Ms. Keeley gave a weasely response for seemingly political reasons, where a simple 'yes' or 'no, because' would have led to a more intelligent and democratic debate instead.

Her response is sad, short-sighted and shameful.
