This is only a matter of increasing concern for those who profit from its illegality. The prohibition of cannabis is allowing youths to acquire the drug from the streets. A market that seems hell bent on pushing harder drugs on our youth as well as contaminating these substances with such toxic substances like Fibreglass and silicone crystals.
The abundance of East Asian gangs getting busted and more and more cannabis farms being found by unsuspecting landlords.
There has been no proven causal link, the ACMD's findings also support this. Not to mention that even if it did increase the chances, that is only 4% of the population of those who MAY suffer what was an underlaying problem already awaiting its day to come out the closet.
I have been a Cannabis smoker for all of 17yrs, I started smoking cannabis as an alternative to the alcohol that I, like many others, first tried.
How on earth can we support the prohibition of a drug that has not 1 single death to its 10,000yrs of known history as a medicine and holy sacriment. Yet we allow people to consume alcohol and tobacco, 2 of the biggest killers known to man, over 100,000 people die due to both these drugs every year....and thier legal????
Let me tell you what i see here, on the streets, where it really matters!!!
I see youths drinking and smoking, not cannabis, just plain old simple cigarettes. The drugs are there and yes, they are consuming them, but what is doing far more damage is the alcohol they consume and follow up with a spree of smashing peoples car and house windows, fighting and throwing up in the street.
I believe its time we went back to the days when only offlicenses sold alcohol & tobacco. I believe that legalising Cannabis will seriously reduce the expenditure of police time and resources to concentrate on the real crimes.
Heroin should be legal and so called shooting gallerys brought about so that those who are addicted, atleast can be weened off with clean heroin, without the need to rob for a fix and without the risk of overdose and contaminated batches.
LSD/Magic Mushrooms, legal for sale to adults over 21....do you seriously believe that people no longer go up the mountain and take mushrooms???? oh please, its happened since the dawn of man...and so it shall continue.
Its time the UK addressed the real issues of this country and started to treat us with some respect. What we choose to put into our bodys, providing we do no harm to anyone around us and do not break the law, should be totally up to us!! The right to Privicy and a private life.
