In the nuclear White Paper, the Government made clear their view that new nuclear should have a role to play in the UK's energy mix. Nuclear is a low-carbon energy source that can help address the twin challenges of tackling climate change and ensuring security of energy supply. We are taking active steps to facilitate early deployment of new nuclear build in the UK by increasing certainty for investors and removing unnecessary obstacles.

This is the usual meaningless government waffle which means they will do absolutely nothing other than hold enquiries for many years to come. (Unless they are voted out at the next general election).

The tail end of this statement "....by increasing certainty for investors and removing unnecessary obstacles." should be ringing alarm bells in all corners of the land. Labour's craven grovelling to big business has already seen the planning system weighted heavily in favour of private enterprise, so "increasing certainty for investers" will almost certainly result in yet more extortionate PFIs that we, the mug public, will be paying for for the next 50-75 years, and "removing unnecessary obstacles" will probably mean bypassing parliament and ignoring local objections. Watch this space.
