May I tempt my right hon. Friend to go a little further? Is there not a case for giving excellent transport authorities such as South Yorkshire passenger transport authority the ability to introduce quality contracts, without reference to external organisations, just as the Mayor of London can do? If she will not go that far, will she at least listen to the Transport Committee, which said that there should be a time limit on how long applications for quality contracts should be considered by the approvals board and the transport tribunal to prevent inordinate delays that would not be in the interests of bus passengers?

John Grogan is great at looking after any situation world wide or nation wide but seems reluctant to look after his own constituents or reply to their e-mails or written questions with any consistency. Do you not think he should be better employed looking after those who voted for him. If he wanted to be a Blair look alike he could have put up for Prime minister. He has already told the local people he has no interest in the actual work he was voted in to look after. So why is he still able to talk all sorts of nonsense about broader subjects when he cannot and has not looked after his own constituents and said he will not be putting up at the next election. I voted for a dud wet squib. So much for democracy?
