The Minister refers to the bleak local and national figures. Cases of cirrhosis of the liver have doubled in the past seven years, and have gone up by more than a third in the past two years. Does he not think that we ought to have a much more widespread and effective public health campaign? Notwithstanding the comments of Philip Davies, the availability of cheap alcohol at national chains with names like Bargain Booze says an awful lot about us as a nation, does it not?
