The hon. Gentleman is making a thoughtful and welcome speech. I do not think that it is the Governor of the Bank of England's decisions that are under attack but his inconsistencies, which are not helpful. Does the hon. Gentleman not agree that the market wants above all good judgment and consistency from the Bank of England and its Governor?
