I am not sure that that squares with the Prime Minister's conversations with President Bush. In the course of those conversations, did he understand that it was America's policy to allow Israel a further period for military action? Is that why the UK is not calling for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire?

Mr Blair is not QUITE as obvious as Mr Bush in his responsiveness to the zionist (or pro-Israel, if you prefer) lobbies in Britain and America. That their positions are influenced by these groups -- who do not necessarily speak for most Jews -- is shown by their political alliance with Rupert Murdoch [see "Fox News: trumpet of Israel's hard right" which you hopefully can find via Google], who, along with Bush, wins high praise from the zionists.
Now, I am not taking a position at this point on the rights and wrongs of the current Mideast crisis but it is certain that Mr Bush obtains undue political protectionism from ardent media zionists (see http://znewz1.blogspot.com), and we hear that Mr Blair is considering taking a post in the Murdoch organisation.
