The right hon. Gentleman says that it does not happen. I cannot instruct Ministers, but Hugh Robertson should get a reply, and he will get a reply. I hope that the right hon. Gentleman is happy with that.

I believe p202 of the 24th Edition of Erskine May references this reply by the Speaker. It appears to have suggest the Speaker's response in this instance ought create a precedent:
"Members are entitled to a response from a Minister when the accuracy of a ministerial answer
has been reasonably challenged (HC Deb (2005-06) 442, c 1283)."
