May I welcome the Government's commitment to tackling the issue of women's pensions? However, only 16 per cent. of retired women have a basic state pension in their own right, because they are not properly credited in the national insurance system for their years of caring for children and older relatives. Will my right hon. Friend commit to a change that will ensure that carers come into the pension system in the near future on the same basis as workers, because that is only fair?
