The Home Secretary obviously intends to make these things compulsory, and he has already talked about the penalties for refusing to register. Will he now let the British people know exactly what penalties they might face, in fines or imprisonment, for refusing to have anything to do with the scheme?

According to the little information I have been able to find: (regarding fines etc) - failure to attend an appointment for a scan of your fingerprints and iris would result in a fine of £2,500. Actually - they could legislate to have my dangling bits chopped off - I still wouldn't comply! (Maybe that's just me ...)
