With permission, Madam Speaker, I should like to make a short business statement.

Following discussions through the usual channels, the business for tomorrow afternoon will now be as follows:

Conclusion of remaining stages of the Crime (Sentences) Bill.

The business previously announced for tomorrow will be taken on a later occasion.

I shall, of course, make an announcement of forthcoming business, as usual, on Thursday.

I thank the Leader of the House for that announcement. Some of us on the Opposition Benches are somewhat surprised that the Bill could not be completed last night, but we shall endeavour to ensure that it reaches the statute book at the earliest possible time, although, of course, it is the responsibility of every Member of the House to scrutinise legislation as fully as is necessary.

I merely express surprise at the hon. Lady's surprise.

Has the Leader of the House, recognising the importance of the change of business tomorrow, had the opportunity to raise with the Secretary of State for Health the questions that have been asked about cuts in acute services?
