Queen's Recommendation having been signified—

Resolved,That for the purposes of any Act resulting from the Natural Heritage (Scotland) Bill [Lords], it is expedient to authorise the payment out of money provided by Parliament of—

  1. (a) any administrative or other expenses incurred by the Secretary of State in consequence of the provisions of that Act; and
  2. (b) any increase attributable to that Act in the sums payable out of money so provided under any other Act.—[Mr. David Davis.]

Secretary of State

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
