What I found significant and hopeful was that a number of my colleagues—as these were private discussions it would not be fair to enumerate them—said that they agreed with the general trend of criticism that the United Kingdom Prime Minister was making on that occasion. Far from our being isolated, there was more agreement with our analysis of the situation, and of the need to reorder our priorities, than I have ever known.
