The hon. Gentleman fails to recognise the difference—perhaps it is understandable in the case of his Constituency—between Cornish and Scottish doctors. Cornish doctors are able to dispense prescriptions for their patients if necessary. Cornwall is renowned as an area in which friends, relatives, neighbours, local tradesmen and voluntary organisations are willing to fetch and carry for those whom they serve.

In a general election, each Constituency chooses an MP to represent them. MPs have a responsibility to represnt the views of the Constituency in the House of Commons. There are 650 Constituencies, and thus 650 MPs. A citizen of a Constituency is known as a Constituent
