I am extremely interested in the point made by the hon. Member for Chislehurst (Mr. MacDonald) about the development of Bromley town centre. However, if the proposals put forward so ably by my hon. Friend the Member for North Fylde (Mr. Clegg) had been in force at the time, the property would have been bought up by the council. When the plan was changed, the property would have been sold by the council, and I am sure that a substantial profit would have been made on the transaction.

I wish that the Public Gallery this afternoon had been filled with voters from the Greater London Borough of Bromley——
