Environmental factors are taken into account in all road planning. These aspects will be examined with other issues arising from the road proposals in the Greater London Development Plan. A special study of Chiswick and Brentford would not be justified at present.

Is my hon. Friend aware that he said that he would take this matter up with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Local Government and Regional Planning in view of my right hon. Friend's responsibility for environment? Can my hon. Friend assure me that I shall have an answer on this point?

I think my hon. Friend will find that there is a letter for him in the post on this matter right now.
