asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he is yet in a position to make a statement on the commencement of the operation of the University of the Air.
The essential preparatory work is going ahead most satisfactorily. I hope to make a more precise statement soon.
How soon is "soon"? Is the project being held up by finance or by disagreement on principles as to the operation of the scheme?
I am grateful to my hon. Friend for the interest and support with which he has always favoured me. The scheme is not being held up either on points of principle or on finance.
Does the hon. Lady expect to make a statement before the House rises for the Summer Recess? Is she not aware that this is becoming something of a non-saga of rather considerable length? The House hopes to hear something soon.
